Title: Metal Detecting In Socal

SilentHunter - December 25, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)
Hey Everyone,

I am new to this forum...as you can probably see and even newer to metal detecting...I just got my metal detector yesterday for Christmas. Anyhow I live in Los Angeles, next to the Griffith Park and I was wondering if there were any permit regulations or anything I need to know before I can start...also I would like to know where I CAN metal detect around SoCal. And any basics I need to pick up. Thanks!

There are loads of hunters in your area.

Go to the main forum and hangout for a while. Tristan.. Captain Fi..StayDetuned and a bunch of others are from SoCal. Great guys. I'm sure any of them can answer your questions.

Maybe a Private Message to one of them would be helpful.

Good Luck and get out there!

Bill

Welcome Silent Hunter, you live next to a great park for hunting old coins I've found a few Silver there and the rest of the S.Cal crew has found some really nice coins, i'll let them pipe up with there finds. The rangers there are mostly pretty cool if you dont leave a mess and fill your holes in.

So what machine did Santa bring you?
