Hey Guys,

I had a question which might sound stupid...but what is clad ;P ?
Ive heard of clad quarters and the such...but what makes something clad/what is it?

Clad would be any change you find from 1965 to the present, penny's would be from 1959 to the present. Anything older than those two dates are silver or wheats, indian head pennys.

The one slight exception being 1965-69 half dollars which are 40% silver, also known as "clad silver"...

Hello Silenthunter,
Kennedy half dollars 1965-1970-weight 11.50 grams:composition, outer layer of .800 silver and .200 copper bonded to inner core of .209 silver, .791 copper (net weight .1479 oz. pure silver). 1964-back are .900 silver and 1971-present are .750 copper, .250 nickel. Ihope this info help you more with clad coins,
