Title: Garage Sale Detector,no Manual - Need Help

randy_coyote - August 22, 2005 02:37 PM (GMT)
I couldn't pass up the bargain, only $8, but I have no idea what all the settings mean/do.

Does anyone know where I can find a manual for a Prospector II? It also has a label that says MP, with some kind of circular symbol, between the M and the P. It works. I put new batteries in it and found 1/2 a pop can about 8" down.

It needs a stabilizer too, but until I can get one, I'll just build some muscles in my arm.

I found a wholesaler, but no manufacturer's web site. I e-mailed them, but no reply yet. Does anyone know anything about this machine? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is a website of a company that sells a Prospector II detector. They may be able to provide a manual:

Its a TR Discriminator so make sure your threshold is maintained as you scan the ground. Too much threshold or NO threshold will HIDE the targets.

I understand the temptation of purchasing a detector, even the Level 1 Prospector for under 10.00 but consider the purchase of one of the Professional Performers starting at approximately $150.00.
