JUST WONDERING IF ANY OF YOU CAN TELL ME IF MY QD2 COULD FIND NUGGETS? I KNOW ITS THE LOWER OF THE SPECTRUM OF DETECTORS,BUT I JUST LOVE IT ,,,,,,,ANYONE?,,,,,,THANKS :ph43r:

Most any detector will find gold nuggets. How small and deep will depend on the detector and user. Find someone in your area with a few small nuggets willing to let do a test. Thats the only way your going to find out what your QD2 will do on gold before you go to the Field.

Quickdraw, As nitro said, "most any detector will find gold nuggets". Always lay the nugget on the ground to get a better idea on how well your detector will pick it up, especially in mineralize ground. Also, processed gold (10K, 14K etc.) is easier to pickup than a nugget. When searching for nuggets, use your all metal mode. DO NOT use any discrimination, if you do you will miss the little ones. Good Luck.......Rick

Hey QUICKDRAW,
The Bounty Hunter Quick Draw is a not designed to be a gold nugget hunter, it simply does not have the capability to cancel out the ground were gold is to be found. I am not saying it won't find gold but it will miss the vast majority of small gold, a nugget would have to be a good size one close to the surface to be found with it. If you are going to give it a try for prospecting you will have the best chance with a small coil, I believe Bounty Hunter does make a small coil for gold hunting and they are fairly cheap, you might try Big 5 sporting goods or Wal-Mart. Good luck.

Go for it man. Just turn down the disc as far as you can, turn it off if possible and have fun. You'll never know if you dont try. I hear the huge nugget at The Golden Nugget casino was found by an amateur behind his trailer using a radio shack detector. You never know.

Do what I did when I first started detecting in Vegas. I dug up my horseshoe pit and buried a couple of small nuggets and coins in various depths to check out my Tesoro lobo Super Traq. Plus it also gives you a chance to really practice a lot.

Good Luck!
