I live in santa cruz ca. and i am new to metal detecting. Does anyone know where i could use my detector.

Is it ok to use at calif. state park?
What about local parks and Schools?
are all ghost town ok?

Any help would be nice

all locations are ok, unless otherwise posted, or obvious historical landmarks. If someone thinks otherwise, they're welcome to tell you. But if you make a mess, stick out like a sore thumb, create a nuisance, ask dumb questions, etc... then of course it will be morphed into "no md'ing allowed".

National Parks, monuments, and archeological sites are off limits to detecting.

The beaches and parks of Santa Cruz are ok -just dig carefully and fill your holes. B)
