Hi everyone,

I'm new to MDing and have been reading a few posts. I definitely like hittin the beaches and am curious on some of the lingo used. What does it mean when someone refers to the cuts on a beach????

A beach cut is a big erosional face. The action occuring is similar to a giant gold pan, gravity separation on a MASSIVE scale!

When you look at water and near water detecting you have to think in terms of density and of objects which would shelter heavier items from flow. I'm sure some of the beach guru's like Tom in Salinas, Fumunda and FishnChips to name a few can extrapolate on this greatly.
