Title: Newbie Introduction

I live in SJ and am new to MD. I have a Bounty Hunter QD2 as my first detector.
With this being Memorial Day Weekend, the places I plan to try out my new toy are:
1. Early morning visit to Santa Cruz Wharf area, either on Sun or Mon, then breakfast at Hobees
2. I live near where they are tearing up Auzerais (near OSH), so I may wander down the street early Saturday morning
3. I've started collecting nugget/gem/gold books and have begun looking for weekend spots to visit.
I'm open to new places to MD, too.

Welcome to the group. I live up in Alameda. We have many people from your area and there is also a pretty good club down there I hear.

There are several of us that live in SJ, so you are in good company.
You might to look into joining the Santa Clara Treasure Hunters Society. The
dues are reasonable and also gets you hunting permits for the city of San Jose and
Santa Clara County.

I live in San Jose also but I wasn't aware that you need a hunting license. Oops. O well at least I haven't been caught yet. :P HH-Josh
