Title: Possible To Hire Someone?
Description: Finding lost wedding ring

Hi all,
I am wondering if it is possible to hire a seasoned metal detector to search for a lost wedding ring. Ironically, the ring was lost last summer when we rented a metal detector just for fun. My 8 year old stepson was tossing pennies and nickels off of our deck and then searching for them with the detector. Unfortunately, some time later, he picked up my husband's ring from the kitchen sink area and threw it off the deck!!! We didn't worry too much, thinking, how far could it have gone, etc., but unfortunately, before he told us he had done it, he had searched by hand and with the detector, and disturbed the slope and dirt quite a bit. He watched it fall, he reported, and pointed out pretty much exactly where he saw it land. The possible area is probably 20 feet by 20 feet, on a short slope with mature ivy. It's of huge sentimental value of course, but we feel pretty hopeless at this point.
I'm willing to pay someone to look who perhaps knows what they're doing more than we have. Can anybody make any suggestions? Thanks very much for any help or advice you can give...

Gunslinger,
In re-reading my post, I see I deleted something when I was cutting and pasting. Namely, that we have searched five or six times ourselves for hours at a time, with detectors, with no success.

I get up that way occasionally and could help.
Is the area overgrown with shrubbery, or mostly dirt? How accerssible is it, and is it on your property?
