Well I broke down and ordered a meter for my GT the other day and need to know when it arrives do I calibrate it to 170 or 180 on a guarter?
I hear the manual is wrong.

Funny you should mention this. Since the old meter on my Sov went whacky last summer I have been hunting strictly by ear, but did post a question about replacing the meter. You might find my post and the replies. Mike Simon offered to do some electronic mumbo jumbo and he said it would then be a meter calibrated at 180 for silver and copper. Perhaps 170 would be zincs and those pesky low IHs. :think:

I have had so little time to hunt in the last year I've just been dragging my feet on replacing it. Did you post this over on the main page back in December? I just saw this tonight, Shows how well I'm keeping up with things. :wacko:

Let me know how you like the 180 meter when you've had it out for a spin.

The old meters for the Elite had to be calibrated but the new ones are already on the 0-180 scale.
