I have to get a new metal detector, now that I can finally get back to my favorite hobby. Do you guys reccomend the Garrett Sea Hunter Marks II for San Diego beaches/underwater? I heard it is just as good on land as well, sand and soil, and it it a personal favorite of Mel Helit's. I also heard it was tested and performed amazingly on Socal/Baja highly mineralized beaches. What do you guys think?

I' would say there are better units for the SoCal beaches than anything Garretts can offer.

That detector is set up more for the deep diver.

I sell that one but am very excited about the new Pulse Induction unit by Detector Pro.... this utilizes pulse induction that has been enhanced for LOW conductor gold and comes stock with an 11" Loop. The Electronics are actually in the Headphones which makes for very lightweight configuration.

I will be reporting to the Kinzli forum my results after I get out weather permitting.
