Title: Xlt Problem With Nuggets

nasty_nos - March 12, 2007 02:34 AM (GMT)
Wondering why my detector will not detect gold nuggets. I have tested it with a nugget and also used settings from another website which are supposed to work and also tried the factory preset programs. I am also using the factory coil as well. Any help with this issue will be highly appreciated.

One of the Reasons is --As far as I know no XLT will do much good at Gold Nugget Hunting Unless they are very Large in size--I had one mine was the same way--I bought the DFX and it was NO BETTER--They have the markings on the box that says Prospecting but neither one is much good at finding Nuggets--When they came out with the MXT Whites put in a circuit board very close (if not the same) as there GOLD machine--Get the MXT and you will have a nugget machine and a GREAT Relic and COIN machine--The XLT NEVER was pushed as a gold machine--Sell the XLT get the MXT and then you will have a good nugget machine--If I was hunting Gold Nuggets with the XLT I think I would be using a Smaller Coil than stock and using the RELIC mode with the Sensitivity at max with the head phone volume at around two or three clicks from the Lowest Volume--Come to think of it I would do the Same Thing With The MXT

The xlt is just not made for nugget hunting.

Detectors are like computers. If your in gold country I'd spend the money to get something better.

:thumber: Thank you for the information, Sounds like the MXT is the one as a primary detector for relic and gold for me and my wife. We have a Sovereign but it doesn't seem to do good in dirt but works great at the beach. B)
