Hi all,
Just got my Garret Ace 250 last night. I work from home today, so I have been playing with it in my back yard. I'm proud to say on my first try I found an old key LOL. My backyard is kind of tough to dig in though :(
Was wondering if there are any people at here in the San Fernando Valley? I was thinking about trying Balboa Park in Encino.
Also are there any clubs in the area? Oh and, I see that there are a lot of guys out there doing this, I hop I"m not the only woman out there!

Hello and Welcome to the forum gourownway-
I'm in the San Fernando Valley. Balboa Park could be fun. I haven't done any detecting at that park so I really can't talk that much about it. Also I don't know anything about the detector your using, but there are plenty of others on the forum that do.
Congratulations on finding the key in your back yard. That's one of best places to start to learn your detector.
I don't know of any clubs in the San Fernando Valley. There is one in Riverside, one in Oxnard and one in Palmdale. As far as I can tell the meetings are held on weeknights, Thursday or Friday.

Hi, we sort of met at the other forum. I'm also soaking up information here, too.
Why don't we Valleyites (gourownway and unearth and anyone else) try to hook up and make it an outing around town? Let me know if you're interested. I'm about to get some time off from work.

Oh, went to the Park in Reseda this morning, only for about an hour. Found a quarter and a dime. I"m getting there!

Although, this forum is mostly populated by men, there are roughly a half-dozen active women forumites. I am sure there's many lurkers in the mist.
