I keep hearing that the XLT does not do well in wet sand. What exactly will i hear or not hear if that is the case? I did put a coin on TOP of the wet sand and it reacted normally...i also put a quarter an inch or so under the wet surface ...same results....i did not do this test with waves running over the coin...
Tips welcome.
Try starting in the dry sand and working towards the surf. You should hear an increase in noise as you hit the wet sand. No targets at first, just listen to the ground, or salt more correctly.
Once you get in to the real noisy stuff, try to bury a quarter there at about 4" (which should be loud and clear in normal situations) and you should find it tough to get a good hit.
My XLPro didn't like the wet sand at all, but that is normal for these types of sensitive circuits.
Thank you for the tip.....ill give it a whirl next time
