Hey Benjg,
Not bad! One point that needs to be corrected though. The part about the gov't owning what you find. We seperated from England back a couple of centuries ago, so they have no "ownership" of finds in the US.
Actually, the part about the gov't owning finds and the treasure law is only for England.
The US doesn't have a treasure law. That's why we are so screwed up in this arena.
When someone finds something valuable that should be theirs or the property owners', the gov't will try and say it is theirs. Everybody ends up in court and the only ones that win are the lawyers. Moral of the story (as you mentioned) is "Keep your mouth shut when you find something of a large value". It's hard to do. But other than this, it was well written.
What grade did you get?
